What we are all about?
Bongiovi Acoustics is answering the changing needs of the audio industry with technologies that dramatically improve sound reproduction in virtually all of today’s consumer electronics products.
Bongiovi Acoustics licenses this patented audio intellectual property (IP) in the form of chip-based and software-based active signal processing technologies to electronics and OEM companies worldwide.
With facilities in Fort Lauderdale, Port St Lucie, Detroit, New York City and Toronto, Bongiovi Acoustics works with companies all over the world. Over the years, many companies have come to rely on our research and development, product design, and long-term support to help improve and differentiate their products.
Several key trends have fueled strong demand for our audio technologies: the emergence of today’s high-compression music formats; newer, faster and more efficient processing chips; consumer demand for more functionality and portability; and environmentally conscious manufacturing.
Back to topToday’s online music distribution has sacrificed sound quality.
In paving the way for online music distribution, the MP3 and other highly compressed audio formats have provided portability and distribution benefits but at considerable sacrifice to audio quality.
Recording engineers, producers and artists create rich, state-of–the-art recordings in multi-million dollar environments only to have a large portion of the material degraded by today’s high-compression playback mediums.
MP3 players along with radio and satellite broadcasts limit bandwidths and require high compression that actually modifies the content from the master recording – effectively cutting out entire regions of audio material. By the time it reaches consumers’ ears, the sound quality of the original program material has been significantly degraded.
Digital Power Station™ compensates for the loss of material with active signal processing that extends audio bandwidth and adds missing harmonics without adding peak output to the signal. It effectively improves brightness, clarity and presence and delivers deeper, more resonant bass and crystal clear highs.
Back to topAdvanced chips can now handle DSP
Digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms, especially those needed for our Digital Power Station™, require a large number of mathematical operations to be performed on a set of data. Signals must be converted from analog to digital, manipulated digitally, and then converted again to analog form very rapidly. Until recently, this kind of processing required larger processors to work. However, recent advancement in chip technology has enabled powerful DSP operations to be performed effectively on a single chip.
Back to topSmaller, lighter, eco-friendly products impact sound quality.
As the global environmental trend pushes manufacturers to produce smaller, lighter, and more efficient products, Bongiovi Acoustics is replacing the need for big, heavy, inefficient hardware with technology-based systems that are less costly to produce yet deliver significantly better sound than high-costing hardware alternatives.
Testimonials
"Using a chip called the Digital Power Station, the KD-S100 scans and extends the frequency response and audio spectrum of various kinds of audio recordings ...the system does a great job of maximizing the potential of stock factory speakers."
"It is only after engaging the DPS that you realize how muffled and muddy the sound was in non-Bongiovi mode. Specifically, activation of the processor has the effect of swelling the sound into the center of the cabin and projecting audio up from the footwells where the front speakers are installed."
